Four months since our last look at Tridel's Ten York Street Condos, the 65-storey, Wallman Architects-designed condominium development has begun to impact skyline views as it rises into Toronto's South Core skies. Now reaching 34 storeys, the tower is now more than half way towards its final height of 224 metres (735 feet), which it will reach mid-next year.

Cladding installation has sealed off much of the tower's wedge-shaped podium, while tower cladding now stretches as high as the 17th floor. A range of cladding types are being used for Ten York's exterior envelope. The podium levels are being sealed in a combination of capless unitized curtain wall and white pre-finished aluminum piers, with glass either providing windows, or fronting shadow box insulated wall panels. The entrance lobby's York Street frontage has been almost entirely clad in a clear curtain wall glazing enamelled with a bird-friendly frit pattern.

The tower's cladding uses curtain wall cladding where there are no balconies, modified window wall, vertical extruding fins with a platinum finish, and horizontal bands of shadow box spandrel covering slab edges.

With a more than a dozen floors of the tower now sealed off from the coming harsh winter weather, rough-in work for plumbing and electrical has commenced on these levels. Over the next several months, trades will move up the height of the tower following cladding installation, repeating their work on each floor and priming the raw spaces for the next work crews.

Once topped out at 735 feet, Ten York will be taller than the west Ïce Condominiums tower behind it, but a few feet shorter than Ïce's 743-foot east tower. Ten York's residents will have access to a selection of amenities in a space branded "The Shore Club", including a games and media room, a spa, a juice bar, a yoga studio, a weight room, a spin studio, and a cardio room offering city views. In addition to the on-site amenities, residents will be a short walk to Union Station and the Financial District.
