Developing a greenfield site opposite the Erin Mills Town Centre at Eglinton and Erin Mills Parkway, The Daniels Corporation's Daniels Erin Mills development is adding a new high-rise community to Mississauga. Following on the phase I and II 'Skyrise' and 'West Tower' buildings, third phase 'Arc' will be the architectural centrepiece of the neighbourhood, featuring a sculpted design by Kirkor Architects Planners.
The 19-storey third phase Arc is now gearing up to rise from the southwest corner of Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue East. Previously used as a staging area for crews working on the first two phases, Arc's site was fenced off earlier this year, with the most recent photos of the site revealing the presence of construction crews.
Crews have begun excavating along the southwest edge of the Arc footprint, where a concrete wall built during construction of the below-grade levels of the first two phases will act in place of a shoring wall. The other three pit walls will be sloped, not requiring the earth retention system we normally see at more constrained sites.
The completed development will help to animate the Eglinton and Erin Mills Parkway intersection with the injection of 15,000 square feet of retail space fronting onto a pedestrian-friendly market plaza. Inside the building, residents of the development's condominium units will have access to a range of amenity spaces on the 4th and 5th floors called "The Arcadia Club", appointed by interior designers HOK.
