A new high-rise development at the intersection of Yonge Street and Grandview Avenue in Thornhill is fusing the luxury condo lifestyle with green initiatives. Devron Developments' The Vanguard aims to make suburban living more sustainable, and is targeting LEED Gold status by employing environmentally conscious features which include electric car charging stations, and much more.

Major energy efficiency features within the 25-storey Kirkor Architects-designed condominium development will include the use of locally-sourced construction material (30% of what will be used to construct the tower), 35% renewable energy use,  a building-wide water filtration system, a fitness facility with exercise bikes that feed electricity back into the power grid, and Tesla Destination Chargers on the ground floor, marking the first implementation of such technology within the GTA.

To underscore to the project's impressive sustainability initiatives, Devron is introducing the “Vanguard Tesla Model X Giveaway" (not associated with or endorsed by Tesla Motors), which offers a 4-year lease of a brand new 2016 Tesla Model X as the grand prize. No purchase is necessary to enter the contest, and the public is free to enter by visiting the project's presentation centre between now and November 3rd for a tour. Guests will be qualified to return on the contest draw date of November 5th, where they will place their entry form into a drum for selection. Entries will be accepted until 2:00 PM on the November 5th draw date, with the live draw to take place at 2:30 PM. Official rules and contest details can be found at this link.
