Immediately north of the growing Yonge & Sheppard area, Diamante Development is bringing another high-rise residential tower to Toronto's North York. Designed by Scott Shields Architects, the 30-storey Diamond Condominiums on Yonge will add 385 units of new density to the Yonge Street corridor.
Following our recent look at the project's floorplans, we move on to a preview of Diamond on Yonge's common amenity spaces. Clustered at the ground level, the interiors are also appointed by Scott Shields Architects, who are working in collaboration with Diamante's in-house team. Interior amenities include a flexibly configured, multipurpose party room, a cinema space, and a library. Greeting visitors, the marble lobby (below) sets the tone for the interiors, with a wood accent piece adding a touch of warmth to the sleek space.
The flexibly programmable party room (seen below), is appointed with a full catering kitchen for larger gatherings. For smaller or more casual groups, the space can also be arranged as a games room. Meanwhile, the adjoining 'Diamond Library'—arranged around a central fireplace—provides a quiet spot for reading and respite.
The party room leads directly to the project's showpiece garden. Below, an aerial view of the garden showcases the space. Appointed by Ferris + Associates, the garden features an open green space, a BBQ-equipped dining/entertainment area, and a rose garden, the outdoor amenity is designed as both a social space and a private retreat. The garden's varied programming is delineated by a series of articulated stone walls, which double as seating areas.
While the garden faces out to the quieter residential neighbourhood to the west, the busier lobby entrance just off Yonge Street (seen below) is also characterized by fairly extensive landscaping. As in the garden, a stone texture is prominently featured, while a wood tone reinforces the natural material selection while adding its depth of colour to the area.
Above the street-level amenity spaces, the second floor features a fully equipped fitness centre, complete with saunas, a yoga studio, and change rooms.
We will keep you updated as additional details and new information about the project emerges. In the meantime, additional information and renderings can be found in the project's dataBase file, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion?
