Many of Canada's tallest buildings can be found on and around the stretch of Bay Street between Front and Queen in Downtown Toronto's Financial District. A number of tall buildings have been completed in this area over the course of the last decade, three of which are featured in this week's Throwback Thursday. Back in May 2006, the south-facing view on Bay Street from Queen was dominated by Scotia Plaza and Commerce Court West.

A decade later, the two major office towers visible in the 2006 view have been blocked from this angle by the 51 and 44-storey towers of the Bay Adelaide Centre, with the former incorporating the rebuilt north and west facades of the 1926 National Building visible in the image above. Just behind Bay Adelaide's 51-storey tower, a sliver of the 58-storey Trump International Hotel and Residences Toronto is also visible. In the left foreground, preparatory work is underway for the controversial re-cladding of the 33-storey Simpsons Tower at 401 Bay Street.
