Last month we introduced the latest phase in the Daniels Erin Mills master-planned community in Mississauga, dubbed 'Arc'. Designed by Kirkor Architects Planners, Arc is the third development planned for the Erin Mills community. Rising 19 storeys, the mixed-use tower aims to break away from the rectilinear aesthetic established by the community's first two towers, featuring a curving organic form with retail and office space on its lower levels, and condominium units above. Newly released renderings are now giving us a better illustration of the development's public realm and the central "community courtyard" public space that will act as a hub for the new Erin Mills community.

At street level, Arc will feature a wide pedestrian plaza depicted in renderings as capable of supporting local pop-up market or community event stalls. The double-height ground floor of the development will provide retail space, sheltered by an overhanging terrace supported by four sculptural support columns. The terrace itself provides views over the scene at Eglinton and Erin Mills Parkway, presumably for employees working in the offices above.

The community's central park, referred to as the "community courtyard", will serve as a gathering space for residents of the three residential towers and future townhome block. A new rendering of this publicly accessible space depicts a wide greenspace flanked by trees and including canopies for shade and a children's playground.

A plan of the full community shows the position of Arc in relation to the under-construction West Tower and Skyrise tower on other portions of the site, while highlighting the importance of the community courtyard in creating a central gathering space for the fledgling neighbourhood.

We will keep you updated as information continues to become available. In the meantime, additional renderings of the master-planned community can be found in our dataBase file for the project, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion?
