In the Kennedy and Highway 401 area of Scarborough, construction of Tridel's Avani is fast progressing, as sales continue on the development's second phase, Avani2. Together, the twin 35-storey Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed condominium towers will add several hundred residential units to Tridel's master-planned Metrogate community, which already contains four completed high-rise residential towers, several townhomes, and a central park.

The on-site webcam watching over the fast-rising first phase is showing significant progress. About a month ago, the tower had reached a height of 23 storeys, and in the weeks since, has risen another 7 levels. Now standing 31 storeys tall, Avani's first phase is just four levels shy of its final height. Installation of the building's grey window wall cladding has also progressed from the fourth level up to the eleventh.

The development's second phase will be connected to the first phase via their shared podium, which will offer amenities for residents of both towers. The amenity area at Avani and Avani2, dubbed 'Club Avani', will feature spaces including a yoga studio, steam rooms, a fitness centre, a billiards lounge, a theatre, a fireplace lounge, a private dining room with prep kitchen, and a generously sized party room with seating and a bar.

The indoor offerings are complemented by outdoor spaces offering views overlooking Metrogate Park, the central feature in the Metrogate community. The park itself provides a central outdoor amenity with landscaped greenspace and a playground, a feature designed to bring members of the community together.

The completed development will put residents in close proximity to Highway 401, while the nearby Ellesmere and Midland Stations on the TTC's Line 3 (SRT) will give transit riders a means of getting around the city.
