Located a short distance east of Downtown Toronto, the Leslieville neighborhood is the site of two side-by-side projects from Streetcar Developments called The Taylor and The Carlaw. Designed by TACT Architecture, The Carlaw and The Taylor are bringing a combined total of 416 condo and townhome units to Dundas and Carlaw, with The Taylor containing 96 residential units, and the Carlaw bringing 320 units.

At the time of our last update in April, The Taylor had reached its second storey above street level, while finishing touches had started to be applied at The Carlaw, including finalizing the installation of blue-tinted window wall cladding with white spandrels and ironspot slate-gray bricks.

Two months have gone by since we last checked in on The Taylor, and work has been moving along swiftly in the time since. The Taylor now stands at four storeys in height, with three more levels to build before the building tops off.

In the image above, the blank expanse of concrete visible on the east side of The Carlaw is gradually being covered up by The Taylor as it rises. This angle also provides a view of the townhouses at The Carlaw, while providing a hint of how The Taylor's townhome units will appear upon completion.

Residents of both The Taylor and The Carlaw will enjoy a host of of amenity spaces appointed by Seven Haus Design. The Carlaw also offers a major neighbourhood amenity in the form of a new location for Crow's Theater, which once open will become the largest performing arts space in Toronto east of the Don Valley Parkway. Besides a new venue for presenting plays, the space can be utilized to host various public gatherings such as film festivals, farmers' markets, or something like Nuit Blanche.

Additional information, including renderings and floor plans of what the finished buildings and suites will look like, can be found in our dataBase files, linked below.
