Intensification of Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood has brought countless full time residents to the primarily shopping district. Among the newest residential additions to the neighbourhood, Camrost-Felcorp's Cumberland at Yorkville Plaza will add 40 storeys of new life to what is already one of Toronto's most walkable, vibrant areas.
The WZMH Architects-designed condominium tower will rise to the immediate south of the the former Four Seasons Hotel at Avenue and Yorkville, currently being converted into a condominium building. At ground level, Cumberland at Yorkville Plaza will feature a porte cochere framed by a waterfall and limestone walls, as well as sculpture. Inside the building residents will find a gallery-style ground floor with lobby offering 24-hour concierge and valet services.
Upstairs, the development will include a full floor of amenity spaces designed for entertaining guests or just unwinding. Among the amenity floor features is an aquatics centre with an indoor pool and whirlpool spa which leads to an outdoor sun deck and lounge.
Residents will have several more amenity spaces at their disposal, including men’s and women’s change rooms with showers, day lockers and steam room, a fitness auditorium with circuit training and cardio equipment, a meditation/yoga studio, a large outdoor terrace with covered modern bar and prep kitchen, gas barbecues, and seating lounge, and two guest suites.
Suites at The Cumberland will range in size from 385 square feet up to 855 square feet, and offer 8’6” ceilings heights in principal rooms, floor to ceiling windows, laminate plank flooring and painted slab swing interior doors with designer-selected hardware. All suites will also come standard with matching washer and dryer.
Kitchens at The Cumberland will feature custom-designed cabinetry by interior design firm The Design Agency, which will include stone countertops and integrated appliances.
Bathrooms will offer white soaker tubs, 2 piece white water closets, full height porcelain tile tub surround, vapour-proof ceiling lights in shower stalls or over bathtubs, and many more features.
Construction of the development's below grade levels has already commenced, and we look forward to watching this new high-rise development rise into its place in the Yorkville skyline.

NOTE: An earlier version of this article included a reference to an artist, claiming his sculpture would be included in the garden, but in fact the commission has not been won yet.
