Upon opening in 1963, the Inn on the Park at Leslie and Eglinton was among the city's classiest luxury hotels. Back in the 60s, the Leslie and Eglinton intersection was still surrounded largely by farmland, making the modernist tower by the late architect peter Dickinson all the more impressive. The hotel fell on hard times during the latter half of the 20th century, before eventually being converted to a Holiday Inn, and eventually closed. In today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Vik Pahwa, we are given a view of the former hotel's demolition, as it appeared a few weeks ago at the end of December.
