Work is nearing completion on Morguard's The Heathview, a twin 30-storey Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed rental towers on Tweedsmuir Avenue between St. Clair and Heath Street in Toronto's sought-after Forest Hill neighbourhood.
Residents are moving into the development's 350-unit north tower and it is now largely occupied. Early December saw the release of units on the 28th and 29th floors here.
The final elements of construction are wrapping up on The Heathview's 250-unit south tower, with almost all of the cladding installed and the construction hoist soon to be disassembled. Leasing has already begun for the this tower the suites having been released all at once. Occupancy of the first 14 floors is expected to commence in early 2015.
The Heathview is seeking LEED Gold certification, utilizing energy efficiency features such as green roofs, and rainwater collection for landscape irrigation. LEED will also look favourably upon the recycling of 75% of the materials from the demolition of the earlier apartment buildings on this site.
