The first renderings of the tallest towers at Concord CityPlace in Downtown Toronto have been released. Proposed at 64 and 75 storeys, the residential towers rise from a shared 10-storey mixed-use podium located on the northeast corner of Spadina Avenue and Bremner Boulevard at the heart of the neighbourhood. The project, known as the Signature Towers from an early plan for them, do not have an official name for marketing yet, but will be built on 'Block 22' at CityPlace, where the Concord Adex headquarters and presentation centre now stands.

Designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects, the building's podium has been designed with porosity in mind at street level, with retail frontages whenever possible. Office space and residential suites follow above, while a double-height recreation centre and full set of amenities top the podium. A landscaped roof terrace spans the area between the towers.

Special attention has been paid to retail and restaurant space facing Bremner Boulevard along the south side of the podium. Connecting Spadina Avenue with the Rogers Centre, this podium frontage takes best advantage of the elevation change within the site to provide extra-height spaces which would allow for dramatic high-quality eateries and shops serving the significant pedestrian traffic in the area on a regular basis. Numbers regularly spike here by people drawn to events at the stadium and nearby attractions.

Seen from the Toronto Islands, the towers at Block 22 will form two new peaks on the skyline to the west of the CN Tower. The crowns of each building, along with strips running up all corners of both towers will be reserved for artwork to enliven the exterior.

While the art has not been commissioned yet, detailed images of the spaces where it would be applied are included in our dataBase file for the project, linked below. Consider the artwork as presented to be notional at this point.
