The dedicated right-of-way for the 512 streetcar on St. Clair Avenue West has improved commute times for transit riders in the midtown area, and like many transit upgrades, the line has left its surroundings ripe for intensification. One of the new developments soon to add to this walkable stretch of city is ZIGG Condos by developers Madison Homes and Fieldgate Homes

The Kirkor Architects-designed condominium development will be 11 storeys tall on its St. Clair frontage, while it will transition down to the low-rise neighbourhood to the south with a series of stepped terraces. Those terraces are the source of the building's quirky moniker, ZIGG, for the ancient stepped ziggurats of Mesopotamia whose shape they evoke.

ZIGG is offering 166 condominium units in a boutique setting, ranging in size from 500 square-feet up to 1,776 square-feet. Residents at ZIGG will enjoy a wide range of amenities, including a games room, a gym and a party room, and the highlight, a rooftop terrace overlooking the city skyline and surrounding treed neighbourhoods.

Additional information and renderings will continue to come in, and as more details emerge, we will update our dataBase file for the project, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion?
