Ryerson Universitiy' 2014-2015 Lecture series continues November 6 with another lecture, this time from Michael Speaks. The Dean at the School of Architecture at Syracuse University, Speaks has taught in the graphic design department at the Yale School of Art, and the architecture schools of Harvard University, Columbia University, University of Michigan, UCLA, Art Centre College of Design, the Berlage Institute, and TU Delft of the Netherlands.
Originally from Mississippi, Speaks was the founding editor of the cultural journal Polygraph. Having edited two books pusblished by the MIT press, Speaks has also served for many years on the editorial advisory board of a+u in Japan, and as a contributing editor for the Architectural Record.
The lecture, free and open to anyone is in the Pit (ARC 202) in the Ryerson university architecture building. Located at 325 Church street just south of Church and Gerrard, the lecture will occur between 6:30 and 8 PM Thursday, November 6th, 2014.
