In recent years, new developments on Yonge Street in Downtown Toronto have led to some major changes of the street's urban aesthetic, and few stretches of Yonge have changed as much as the blocks immediately north and south of Dundas. The opening of Yonge Dundas Square in 2002 acted as a catalyst for the glowing Yonge and Dundas intersection we see today, and in the following years, a redevelopment of 10 Dundas East would add ample room for the illuminated signage that now defines the intersection. In today's Throwback Thursday, we look back at the Yonge-Dundas intersection as it appeared in early 2007, when 10 Dundas East was still under construction.

Returning to the same position on August 14th, 2014, much has changed. 10 Dundas East has long since been completed, and is now covered with an assortment of signs facing towards the public square. In the background, the new Ryerson Student Learning Centre and a small sliver of Aura at College Park can be seen further north on Yonge Street.

We will return next week with another look at the changing face of Toronto!
