Construction is imminent at 383 Sorauren Avenue, the 10-storey boutique condominium in Toronto's Roncesvalles neighbourhood as demolition of the sales centre on site began this past Friday and concluded this week.
The building, by Gairloch Developments and Centrestone Urban Developments, features an architectural brick-clad grid which spans the building from the third to the eighth storey, which is then topped by two floors clad in glass. The top two storeys are hidden from many perspectives as they are physically stepped back from the architectural grid.
Designed by architectsAlliance, 383 Sorauren reflects the area's Victorian structures, with the brickwork mimicking its next door neighbour Robert Watson Lofts, a condo conversion which was previously a warehouse. Each suite at 383 includes an outdoor space, whether patio, balcony, or large terraces on the seventh and eighth floors.
The interiors of the condominium are designed by Johnson Chou Inc., who had also designed the modern-meets-bygone-industrial presentation centre. Delivering a loft aesthetic, exposed concrete ceilings will be a feature of each of the 145 units. Nine foot floor heights are the standard here, reaching to ten feet in the penthouse suites.
On the ground floor are two-storey townhouses fronting Sorauren Avenue, each with their own individual entryway and landscaping, as well as an outdoor lounge and kitchen located on the south side, as part of the development's amenities package which also includes one guest suite and a fully equipped workout room.
383 Sorauren is located just steps away from the newly opened phase one of Sorauren Park Town Square to the south and vibrant Roncesvalles Avenue to the west, so residents here will have plenty of entertainment, shopping and dining options to choose from.
The building is targeted to begin occupancy in the Fall of 2016. Until then, the site will become a hub of construction activity as Roncesvalles welcomes a new handsome addition to the neighbourhood.
