North York City Centre remains one of Toronto's busiest development nodes, with high density projects replacing single family homes and low-rise commercial buildings on a regular basis. Today we turn our attention to another project in the area, where excavation is progressing for Devron Developments' Flo Condominiums, an 11-storey, Kirkor Architects-designed boutique condominium project under construction at the intersection of Bales and Avondale, a couple blocks to the southeast of the Sheppard-Yonge subway interchange.

With excavation in its late stages, a crane has recently been erected on site, and it won't be too much longer before Flo Condos begins its climb back up to grade.

The development is just one of many currently under construction in the Yonge-Sheppard area, part of the city which continues to draw in more residents. The Yonge Street corridor in North York has seen its fair share of high-rise projects in recent years, and with land values remaining high, side streets such as Avondale are beginning to see an increase medium-density projects which will help to expand North York's City Centre both east and west of Yonge.

Once completed, the 65-unit building will feature a wide range of amenities, including a rooftop terrace featuring ornamental shrubs and planters, as well as a wooden trellis canopy sheltering a dining area which has seating for up to 8 people.
