Waterfront Toronto has been overseeing the steady transformation of the East Bayfront from a deindustrialized port area into a mixed-use waterfront community. Large swaths of "brownfield" land are now being repopulated with new homes, businesses, recreational uses and infrastructure, and the new development requires new roads. Waterfront Toronto is now asking for the public to speak up and name a new street running along the shore of Toronto Harbour.

The street in question will serve as the main street for the new Bayside neighbourhood, a 10-acre site on the eastern side of the East Bayfront. It will connect to Queens Quay Boulevard and run along the water’s edge providing access to homes, shops, restaurants, offices and most importantly - the lake.

You can have your say by sending as many street name ideas as you want between March 13 and March 27. To submit a name, you have three options: go to Waterfront Toronto’s Facebook page, tweet your name using the hashtag #waterfrontstreet, or fill out this form online.

After the submission period ends, Waterfront Toronto's selection committee will create a shortlist of finalists. Voting will commence April 22 and run until May 2, after which the votes will be tallied and the winner will be announced.
