We were first introduced to Howard Park Condos in late 2011 and saw demolition activity begin at its Roncesvalles Village site at the end of last summer. Since then Triumph Developments has moved forward with construction on its first phase 8-storey eastern tower. Now the company is bringing its Phase Two western counterpart to the market.
Phase two at Howard Park—named after the street it sits on which connects Dundas West to High Park—continues the clever RAW Design plan of phase one, created to take best advantage of the mostly triangular site. Suites on floors six, seven, and eight read as a series of cubes turned 45°, each provided with a private terrace with views to the city skyline, the lake, and High Park. While the balcony fronts of floors two through five run parallel to Howard Park Avenue, the eastern half these suites are also angled to catch skyscrapers on the horizon. Retail units will enliven the sidewalk at ground level.
An enticing aspect of Howard Park Condos is the building's location in the city. Not only will residents have access to the lively and established Roncesvalles Village neighbourhood with its eclectic shops and acclaimed restaurants, they will also have close access to the new Union Pearson Express which makes one of its two intermediate stops in the area. Howard Park Condos is within steps of the Dundas, College, and King streetcar lines, and a very short ride from Dundas West subway station.
If you are not familiar with Triumph Developments, the company has lots of experience as a contractor building for other developers in the city, but in recent years has begun to create its own developments. The first of these endeavours was Roncesvalles Lofts, at 25 Ritchie Avenue, just to the north of Howard Park Condos, where Triumph built a reputation for innovation, quality of work, and personalized service. Roncesvalles Lofts can be seen in the image above with the light green on the upper floors.
Howard Park Condos have been designed with the environment in mind with plenty of green features, and in fact Howard Park will use geothermal energy to heat and cool the complex. In-suite features include 9-foot ceilings, a complete package of high-end appliances, stone counter tops in the kitchen and bath as well as hardwood flooring. Howard Park Condos phase 2 will have 96 units with choices of 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 2-bedroom plus den designs starting from the low 300s.
