Although the building won't to be completed until late 2015, it looks like the first 'offices' have opened at Bay Adelaide East - construction offices that is! In this case it seems two portable office units have been temporarily hung from the 4th and 5th floors.

Construction is well underway for the second phase of Brookfield Properties' Bay Adelaide Centre, with the construction now reaching over ten storeys tall. Bay Adelaide East is being built with a relatively rare method for Toronto called steel frame construction. Rather than the exclusive use of poured concrete for wall, columns, and floors, Bay Adelaide East is anchored with a concrete centre elevator core, while steel beams extend outwards to create the frames for each floor, supported at the edges by steel posts.

The minimalist Modernist tower is designed by KPMB Architects and Adamson Associates Architects, and will rise to 44 storeys or 643ft tall, 7 storeys shorter than its first phase. Upon opening, Deloitte Canada will be moving their headquarters from their current offices a few blocks south on Wellington Street.
