Jack Landau, also known as UrbanToronto contributor someMidTowner, doesn't know about this story. Well, not until now anyway! For the past several months amongst his other contributions to UrbanToronto in countless photographs and many, many stories, Jack has been putting together a weekly item for us called Photographer of the Week. I know that it has been his pleasure to highlight, and help us thank, the many people who help make UrbanToronto so much fun to pore through, and such a great visual history of this quickly growing city. Now it's time for us to thank Jack too!

Over the past few weeks we have hemmed and hawed with Jack about running a competition to determine our members' favourite photographer on this last week of publication this year… and all the while we have been planning to run some of our favourite shots of Jack's instead. We already know that most of you are big fans of his work—he carries a lot of the weight in making UrbanToronto so visually appealing—so we thought you might enjoy seeing some really good stuff gathered on one page here too! So, click on these to expand them - they're much better that way!

Some of Jack's best this year have not even been seen on UrbanToronto yet and come from a trip we took up Lanterra's Ïce Condos, but which we have not had a chance to run yet. Here's a sampling of what he got up top, and looking every which way. I'm starting this batch with one of my favourites… of me (how vain)!

Let's end with some real drama; here's a shot of the distant North York skyline on a cloudy day from atop Emerald City, mid-year;

We are looking forward to more from Jack, and from our previous Photographer of the Week honourees, and from those of you who are so good to upload your photos to UrbanToronto but whom we have not had time to recognize formally yet, in 2014. More highlighted photographers are coming! See you all next year!
