Condominiums in Toronto seem to invariably take months or even years to fully register after purchasers have taken possession, so this is nothing but great news for buyers of condos in The Berczy.
A condo officially becomes a condominium corporation when registered and is then subsequently turned over to the building's owners. However, it is extremely common for purchasers to occupy a building during an interim occupancy period while the building awaits registration. Occupants are obligated to pay occupancy fees to the developer during this time until the building is fully registered.
With The Berczy's early registration, buyers will be able to bypass paying these extraneous fees and move directly to final closing on their condos and paying down their mortgages.

The Berczy condominium has been designed by Young + Wright / IBI Group Architects to achieve a LEED Gold Certification. The building comes with environmental features like green roofs and environmentally-friendly building materials, making it a leading example of green design in the city.
