Toronto keeps getting bigger and better. The increasing neighbourhood cohesiveness at Concord CityPlace is part of that too. With over 5,000 units alone in one giant city block, thousands of Torontonians now enjoy living in this exciting area of the city. The neighbourhood saw the addition of Canoe Landing Park in 2009, and this year thanks to some creative local residents and volunteers, the park will get an all new annual festival to add to its roster of uses: here comes Cityfest.

Canoe Landing Park at CityPlace

The first annual Cityfest takes place this Saturday, August 17th from 1:00 to 9:00pm. The festival—a celebration of the CityPlace community—will feature live music, food trucks, family activities, and local vendors throughout the park.

Bringing this festival to a bang will be headlining musician Karl Wolf. Performing throughout the day are Ish, Zolo, No Big Deal, Sara Simms, Melleefresh, and Redlinerz, with Nicole Arbour keeping it fun between the acts. CityPlace Got Talent will put the neighbourhood on stage too! And to keep everyone refreshed, a Molson Canadian beer garden will be on site alongside food vendors such as Smokes Poutinerie, Spot Coffee, and Sobeys setting up around the festival.

This community event is free for everyone, and you don't even have to live in CityPlace to enjoy all the fun. For all the details, check out the Cityfest website. It's got the complete lineup of events and everything else you need to know.
