A new development is underway just east of Yonge on Sheppard. The Minto Group is bringing a 35-storey condo to the area, featuring 355 contemporary living spaces. Ei8hty8 Condos, otherwise known as 88 Condos, is branded as an "oasis of tranquility", and its goal is to be a modern serene living space, yet remaining engaged in the city. The project architect is Rafael + Bigauskas, while the interior design will be done by ESQAPE Design (who have already recieved an award from OHBA for the Bamboo suite model) at 88.
88's signature amenity is its outdoor water garden, complete with intimate landscaped seating areas, plantings, and wood and stone platforms, while interior amenities include a wifi lounge, a gym and yoga studio, a guest suite, and a suite of party rooms. As for the residential suites, they range from 595 sq. feet to 968 sq. feet.
The the first concrete and rebar won't be in place until later in 2013, land is already being excavated to make way for the new development. Thanks to UrbanToronto user drum118, you can see the site is nearing construction.
