Looking out over the east side of the city's waterfront is a peek back to Toronto's industrial past. A few smoke stacks remain over by the Port Lands and the shoreline still hints at the original land uses of the area with its docks and channels. Renewal is coming to the waterfront and to the Port Lands in the near future, with the Waterfront Toronto Port Lands Revitalization plan that will see new residential communities built on the 400-hectare site.
