A monument to perfection and a rebuttal of the notion that modernism and warmth are mutually exclusive, the banking pavilion of the Toronto Dominion Centre is the finest component of the Miesian complex. Housing the flagship branch of the bank, the fine materials used to line its interior are sadly rarely seen in new construction. Built shortly before the precipitous decline in architecture that rendered new branch design a weak shadow of its former self, the pavilion is a reminder of a time when finance valued the buildings in which it was housed.
