We're nearing the completion date for Concord CityPlace's Parade condominium, so it's an appropriate time to spotlight it in our Project of the Day feature. Of all the condominiums we've seen at CityPlace, Parade definitely garners the most attention, primarily for the dramatic bridge that has yet to be put in place between the east and west towers. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects, the 39- and 44-storey towers eclipse the 18- and 22-storey buildings below.
Both towers have already topped off and units are occupied on the lower floors. Forum members who live in Parade report that construction workers are giving a rough date of June or July for the lift, when the bridge will be put into place.
The bridge has already been moved on-site, awaiting the big day. Parade is not only notable for its bridge — it will act as the northern terminus for Canoe Landing Park, CityPlace's central park that was designed PFS Architects along with Canadian artist Douglas Coupland.
There seems to be a never-ending "parade" (pardon the pun) of projects arising within CityPlace — while we're still waiting for the dramatic finale on today's featured project, we've already been enticed by Quartz, a development arising on the western edge of the park. For more information on Parade, head over the dataBase listing via the link below, as well as the project thread in the Forum where you can find more image updates of construction.
