A remarkable photo to suit our remarkable weather. Taken on Queen St. W by Forum member Frank-R, this beautiful photo of Shangri-La captures the incredible interplay between light, weather (in this case fog) and form. The value of wrapping a tower in a glass skin is obvious for its residents and guests; an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the city below. Its value, for those on the outside looking up, is the wonderfully dynamic nature of the material as it transforms itself with the light. Recently topped out and nearing completion, the 66-storey mixed use tower contains 222 hotel rooms from floors 1 through 17, with residences from floors 18 to 66.

The project is being developed by Westbank Corp. with design by James Cheng & Hariri Pontarini Architects
