Symmetry Developments has given us a sneak peek at their exciting new mid-rise project, and we're sharing with you — a preliminary rendering that has definitely sparked our interest. Origami Lofts, located at 202 Bathurst Street at Wolseley, just north of Queen, is taking the first leap north of Queen on Bathurst, one that we hope will spark change in this evolving neighbourhood.
While no official press release has been issued, Forum discussion and the image hint that we'll be hearing more about Origami soon. The name comes from the buildings appearance: a glass core wrapped in a skin of vertical zinc panels, with large geometric cutouts providing glimpses into resident units. Coming in at eight storeys — with the top two floors recessed — it maintains the neighbourhood feel of Bathurst north of Queen, and will contain a total of 29 units.
The potential on Bathurst Street is only just being realized. Surrounded by intimate neighbourhoods and served by its own streetcar line, it won't be long before we start to see more of these boutique developments popping up on this stretch north of Queen. We're anxiously awaiting more renderings, and will bring them to you as soon as they're released. In the meantime, check out the project Forum here to see what our members have to say, and join the discussion below.
