Rise condominiums are off to a bright start at the southeast corner of Bathurst Street and St. Clair Avenue West. Named after its position atop the escarpment that runs most prominently through this area of Toronto, Reserve Properties' project will provide many residents with commanding views over neighbouring treed neighbourhoods to Casa Loma, and onwards to the city's glittering core. UrbanToronto stopped by the launch for a look at the snazzy II By IV-designed presentation centre, the welcoming model suite, the sharp scale model, and to meet a number of the principals involved.
Many local restauranteurs were invited to the launch party, including a number of names which are becoming famous in Toronto beyond the neighbourhood. On hand were The Rushton, Dutch Dreams, The Stockyards, Ferro Bar • Café, Noir Coffee and Tea, and Akiwenzie Fish from the nearby Wychwood Barns. It was a great idea: who better to do the catering than some of the standout purveyors that many residents will subsequently patronize?
Reserve Properties is a family affair: father Shelley, President, (centre) has been in the development industry for years, while daughter Jessica is Marketing Manager for Reserve, while son Shane is Vice-President. Reserve has quickly attracted attention on UrbanToronto with their early projects such as Motif and Lakehouse Beach Residences.
Rise is L-shaped, made up of a six-storey podium running south along Bathurst, and 26-storey tower right at the corner at St. Clair. The building's signature on the skyline is the pronounced Mondrian-inspired stack featuring a staggered grid. Enzo Corazza, principal at Graziani + Corazza Architects, stands by a scale model of their design.
Closer-up views of the model follows.
One of the building's biggest selling features is its infinity pool and amenity terrace atop the podium. This space will have views over the forested neighbourhood to the south towards Casa Loma, and beyond to the core's spectacular skyline.
That skyline view is a prominent feature in the model suite at the presentation centre. Floor to celing windows open onto this southeast corner unit's wrap-around balcony, and beyond to the surrounding lights of Toronto.
UrbanToronto has added many new renderings to the entry for Rise in our dataBase, including this image of the concierge desk in the lobby. We love the high-ceiling ground floor in this building; it should do wonders for the streetfront retail too.
