Work continues at the top of Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto as the spire that will grace the top of the tower makes its first appearance. This photo, by UrbanToronto forum member nicetommy, shows the first part of the spire rising above the 57 storey hotel and condo.
The spire is actually being assembled within the tower. This shot, by forum member wopchop, shows the temporary base of the spire a few floors down on L50.
The plan, as we hear it, is to jack up the spire over the long weekend and move it over to rest above the northwest column. The hole appearing in the floor above will then be filled in. Stay tuned for further developments here. Developed by Talon International, the soon to be second tallest building in Canada was designed by Zeidler Partnership Architects.
