The TTC is nearly ready to put their new Bombardier-designed Toronto Rocket fleet of subway trains into service.

Over the past few weeks, the shiny new articulated trains have been spotted undergoing training runs along the Yonge Subway line, as well as safety and diagnostic testing in the Davisville Yard. On Thursday, the media got their first view of the trains in their natural habitat since the official unveiling back in October:

The buzz around the forums that has many of us transportation buffs wired is the news that the TTC will host an "Open Train" on Sunday, May 26 as part of Doors Open Toronto. The Toronto Rocket will be open to the public between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the southbound platform of Davisville station for all to revel in.

According to the TTC, the first batch of trains should be operational on the Yonge-University-Spadina line by mid-June. Don't miss this opportunity to be one of the first Torontonians to step inside!
