UrbanToronto returns to our tour of The Monarch Group's Nautlius Condos at their Waterview site in South Etobicoke's Humber Bay Shores area. The Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed tower is close to reaching the 39th, its top floor.
This time we head up to the top. From the 32nd floor, we get a look at the forms above.
This is what it looks like up amongst the forms, while concrete floor slabs are being poured above, and until they have hardened.
We have made it to the top floor. While most of the 34th has been poured, but it will be another day and a half before it is finished.
Construction workers here deal with concrete from the most recent bucket. The first job is to distribute the mix evenly.
Smoothing comes next, first roughly...
and then more precisely on hardened sections from an earlier pour.
Another bucket arrives, and it is emptied.
Another bucket load is distributed.
It's a friendly crew up top.
Tomorrow, we'll take a look at the building from the outside as it looks today, including a closer look at the balcony glazing.
