Today's Photo Of The Day shows the view of Toronto's waterfront skyline as seen from Cherry Street. But this view will be drastically changed in the next 5-10 years as massive development is planned for the Lower Don Lands and East Bayfront Lands. The two white cranes in the distance are for the new George Brown campus currently under-construction. In front of them Waterfront Toronto recently announced that Hines Canada will be building Bayside, an $800 million dollar complex featuring condos, retail and office space.

And then there's the vacant land directly in front of us. This land was formerly owned by Home Depot. It was also the home of the infamous Tent City. This property was recently sold to a venture owned by Castlepoint, Cityzen and Continental Ventures. No plans have been announced yet but seeing the pedigree of the new owners we expect something spectacular.
