George Brown continues to expand in the east end of downtown. The hospitality school expanded a few years back near the main campus along Adelaide while the Graphic Design School moved north to Richmond and George. Now there's further expansion coming to the south.

George Brown has received approval for a new 8 storey mixed use building at 175 Queens Quay East. The KPMB designed building will house the college on the upper levels with retail occupying the ground level. The first basement level will have classroom and operation uses with 3 levels parking (306 spaces) below that. The new Health Science Campus is expected to bring 3,500 full-time and 1,500 part-time students to what is currently a dead-zone. This is sure to change once this building opens in 2012 along with the new Corus building, which will opening this year next door. Here's a rendering of what we should expect.
