Jesus. This would have been perfect for the Hard Rock at Yonge Dundas Sq.
Damn it.

I don't know, Cheesecake Factory screams suburban mall way more than it feels like a cool/hip downtown place.

That being said, Yorkdale is really leaving all other GTA malls/shopping zones in its dust, including Yorkville.

Suburban chain that still needs a location at Times Square, like TGI Fridays, Bubba Gump, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, et al.

No cool/hip restaurant will open in tourist traps like Dundas Sq/Times Square. These places are for corporate chains "flagship" stores and restaurants.

Much to my dismay. Suburbanization of toronto.

The Cheesecake Factory at downtown Seattle does quite well and draws in large crowds. I don't necessarily see having one in our downtown as an immediate benefit. But it certainly wouldn't be out of place at an area like Dundas Square.

They truly are. 20 years ago I really wouldn't have envisioned it to be as successful as it is (or has become) given the tenant mix, the location, the neighborhood demographics, etc. It has really become a destination shopping center.

There is also a Cheesecake Factory downtown Chicago at the John Hancock Center, it's always packed with tourists.
