Detroit has some amazing architectural landmarks.

It also has co-op housing by Mies van der Rohe. If only we were blessed with more of his work. Maybe in time we can get some unbuilt project of his completed.

I just love pre-WWII American architecture... and Detroit got plenty of beautiful examples.

Terrific shots. I was there only once in the late 80's and the city centre was as deserted then as it appears today.

It's nothing short of heartbreaking to see what's happened to some of these great cities. I really, really hope they can return, at least partially, to their former glory.

Good Detroit Downtown...and some historical pics!

Wylie: Good Downtown Detroit pics-with historical pics from its heyday to events like the 60s riots and I will mention that the Ford Building lobby looked great-and tha view looking SE over Detroit from the air looking towards Windsor was quite neat! The Renaissance Center pics looked good at GM's HQ-it makes me wonder what may happen if the Big Three Automakers can not recover from their doldrums what may happen... LI MIKE
