The World Cup is such a big event that it requires a big screen.
And there are few bigger than the one at the Rogers Centre, where the Blue Jays usually nest.
But while they won’t be there on July 9th, chances are the place will still be packed.
The reason? What’s arguably the world’s most prominent sporting event is going to be shown on the giant screen.
And you’re invited to watch it there along with thousands of other screaming football fans.
For free.
The domed arena is holding an all day soccer fest, including interactive European football challenges like kicking cages and penalty shots.
“Toronto is a nation of immigrants and soccer is the game of the world,†declares Mayor David Miller. “Everyone plays football in every country and we can see it in this country. And it is a great thing. And it will be so exciting here on July 9.
"Every Torontonian will want to be here. So you better get your tickets quickly.â€
Especially when they’re free. They’re available at any Rogers Video store beginning June 9th.
