Window Falls From 2200 Yonge Street Onto Street

Glass fell this morning from an upper level of 2200 Yonge Street onto the street. Police currently have street closed.

Window was already boarded up so they may have been doing some work up there already. Luckily nobody was hurt.

Looks like Oxford Properties wants to redevelopment the site some time in the long-run. New thread, perhaps?

They better not demolish that building; it is one of the greatest examples of mid-century architecture in Toronto. It ought to be designated. An internationally designed tower(s) built on the plot of land behind said building would be welcome, however (though I think that is slated to become a public square once the LRT is complete.

I agree about the architecture, however the street level is not very good.
