Toronto Widdicombe & Eglinton Condos | ?m | 3s | Cityzen | TACT Architecture

I really hope it's a mistake.
I understand new builds have their delays but 10 months doesn't make any sense.
We bought in building 6 the unit with the massive utility pole blocking our view... Lol (had to throw that in there).
We should recieve a letter in the next couple weeks.
Please keep me posted if you hear anything.
I'm very close walking from this deal.
Talk soon
Regards,
Paul

I'll keep you posted.
If there are any changes, they need to let us know by feb 28.

*sigh*

You can't be serious, Dec. 2015??
What building/unit are you guys in?
I have not received a letter.
That's a make or break date for me.

just got the letter.... final tentative occupancy date is Dec 8, 2015.

Wow... There are going to be some extremely upset people.
My letter is probably sitting at the post office as we speak.
Thanks for letting us know

its so disappointing....
I feel like breaking the contract and buying another house....

Tell me about it!
Our letter stats final tentative date as November 24th.
The builder still has the right to delay upto 120 days after the final date (firm tentative) if it's not met.
However if it happens to go past the 'firm tentative' date we are then compensated.

Now we play the waiting game !

Yes we also received a letter stating at Tentative Date of Jan 13,2016. How much more longer do we have to wait to get out of the deal.
FYI we are in Unit 9 Level 1 the back row.

Jan 13,2016 !?!?!? Wow.

I have a feeling they will be pushing this to a Firm Tentative date... Seems like they are making great progress though ?!!?

Has anyone received notice of their 3rd level (if you have) square footage change?
I received and signed a copy of this and sent back to Fernbrook (see attached)
In the email from Fernbrook they stated the loss of square-footage would be made up in our second bedroom.
However, if you go to fernbrooks webpage and check out the updated floor plans, they are screwing us on the second bedroom (different from what was signed)
Endless emails have been send and not a single response.... Maybe I'm responsible for the delays... lol

I think this warrants backing out of the deal if it came down to it, then again... what do I know?!

The endless adventures of Fernbrook’s ‘rear-ending’ continues

PaulyC,

You might be onto something, I would suggest getting a lawyer.

I would say they new about this zoning issue long before they started selling the units.

Check your receipt of payment documentation" In the confirmation of the receipt of payments, I noticed there was some wording " a proposed unit " TSCP# (to be registered), City of Toronto, Metropolitan Toronto"

I am no expert but it looks like it was a proposal not firm?

Eh

I went by the property today and there was a big Toronto Zoning Sign up at the Rental Office, this is new........

Hey!

You said "In the email from Fernbrook they stated the loss of square-footage would be made up in our second bedroom."
They never told us that.... wouldn't that create changes in the entire 2nd floor? How can they make the second bedroom bigger?? By making the master bedroom smaller?

And did anyone contact a lawyer about this?? In our contract, it states that we can't take any legal action for changes in the floor plans....

Are we allowed to back out of this deal at any time?
