These predictions were not anything new at this time (1958 according to the YouTube page). Futurama by GM was done in 1939, and in the 1920s there were ideas that we would all be flying everywhere. In fact, if the Great Depression never occurred, elements of our cities may have been designed around the flying car. If any one person was responsible for this kind of modernist thinking, that person would have been the architect and visionary known as Le Corbusier.

Damn. I wish that atomic reactor tunnel boring machine was real. It would really speed up the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown.

What happened to Steampunk Toronto? That would have been a fun vision for Toronto, just like Retro-Future Toronto.

Wouldn't speed up construction in Toronto. Toronto would still demand it be built slowly to create jobs and union dues to politicians. Sounds of crazy but then you consider that one thing they mention is driverless cars. Well we have driverless and fully automated trains but that doesn't stop the TTC from having someone on the train to make sure the doors close at $35/hour does it?
