it a headline like this really necessary:

Not guilty verdict in lesbian axe murder

was lesbianism somehow a motivation for the crime? is there some sort of lesbian doctrine that encourages or condones this sort of behavior?


imagine if you will the following headlines:

Not guilty verdict in black axe murder

Not guilty verdict in white axe murder

Not guilty verdict in asian axe murder

Not guilty verdict in heterosexual axe murder


kinda dumb isn't it?

i don't know if it's sensationalism, discrimination or maybe a combo of both. the headline seems rather discriminatory.

While I wouldn't go far as to call it discriminatory I definitely find it inapproprate--ususual seeing as its The Star

Not a headline, but once I saw a Toronto Sun front page with a photo that was Photoshopped to give a man two heads. No respectable newpaper would use Photoshop like that.
