TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

4460 has finally return from Quebec and is now off loaded at Hillcrest. It was loaded on April 12 (190 Days)

This close the book for the welding issues and car going to/from Quebec

4465 still not ready to reenter service after been return Sept 13 (36 Days)

wow what is that, 10 years after the first car arrived. Crazy. Glad its over.

4465 has finally reenter service on 510 after being off loaded Sept 13, 43 days ago.

This leaves 4460 that could reenter service around the middle of Nov to close the book 100% for the weld issues..

4460 has finally reenter service on 501 and this close the books on the welding issues for the 66 cars 100%.

Since 4460 was off loaded Sept 13 and going into service today, it taken 68 days. This is the longest returns to service since 2020 and goes hand in hand for its 190 days for its return trip.

4460 is still showing last seen 8 hours ago like it has been doing for the past 2 weeks. It spent Friday and Saturday out testing.

This thread should be dead now for the 6-9 months until 4471 & 4478 show or the Frist of the next 60 cars been added to the fleet.

Are 4471 and 4478 - the 2018 flood-damaged cars - actually being rebuilt or will they be the first two cars of the next order (which would then have 62 cars?)

I expect they will be the first prototype of the next 60 cars that are supposed to start showing up around the fall of 2023. As for being rebuilt or new is unknown at this time that I am a wear of unless someone has more info. Most likely rebuilt since they were so new when damage.

This tweet from Associate Minister Cho shows a TTC Flexity Outloook from the next batch of 60 cars under construction in Thunder Bay.

On January 24, 2020, the TTC took delivery of the last of the 204 ordered from Bombardier. This is over three years later. So what "improvements", "invocations", and "nice toys" have been added since then?

New seats? USB plugs? Better wayfinding monitors inside? OLED monitors for the outside signs, allowing for multi-colour displays? Timer heated seats (both passengers & driver)? Wi-Fi? Heat pumps for heating & cooling (electric vehicles & hybrid autos already use them)? Wired defrost windows?

What is the expected timeline to receive them?
All to be here by 2026 since they are only looking a building 20 max per year.. We may see 3 this year with the first one around Sept to keep with the fall delivery of the first car.

Is that car under construction a new car or the shell of 4471 or 4478 that still have yet to returned?? Almost 5 years after they were water damage or 4 years after they left TTC property to be clean in the US and head back to TB to be rebuilt.

My last few streetcar rides have left me noting how worn the seats and trim are looking. Can it be time for a refresh already?

Between all the bustitutions and the way the TTC has been slashing service, it's not like they're going to need the additional streetcars anytime soon. Alstom could deliver them in 2026 and it wouldnt matter much at this point.
