TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Oh gosh, do they have the "Short-Turn" announcement going the whole time southbound? Can't say I'd noticed (though I seldom go further than Harbord - perhaps I keep getting Union cars ...)
TheThey don't really use it as much anymore it's mainly now for cars that are heading back to Lesslie for the end of the day.

"Short Turn X Stop" announcement for every stop going both direction, regardless where it was on the line on Sunday. This was for normal service for the 504.

Surely not on the westbound 504s from Distillery to Dundas West station? Otherwise ... yeah ...

Oh!!!! Yeesss, sure regret

The "Short Turn" announcement would have been in place eastbound, but not westbound to Dundas West Station.

Drum, if you were on a westbound car to Dufferin, then yes, it would have stated short turn.

These are programmed into the system, so any destination that's not a regularly scheduled terminus (construction service notwithstanding), it would pop up as a short turn.

510 King and 510 Queens Quay and 510 Union are all "scheduled" turns, so they do not have a short turn tag.

Any idea why the short-turn location is only announced on the outside of the car, instead of the inside?

More than once, I've jumped on a streetcar that I've had to run to, and not had a time to read all the signage. And then seen/heard the short-turn announcements. And had to go stand near a door, so I could hear the outside-only announcement on where the turn was.

Pretty predictable on Spadina perhaps ... but on 504 anything is possible ... particularly eastbound approaching Broadview, where you have to guess if it's going to go north to Dundas, or east to Leslie (or even north at Parliament ... or south to Distillery these days).

Inside of the car, it says "Short Turn and then Stop X"

4486 is now tracking

4485 is heading eastbound on the Lake Shore near Humber Loop

4487 making its first test run and westbound on Queens St west of Bathurst. Most likely be doing testing out in Long Branch after been here 13 days.

4488 & 89 not tracking yet.

Other than 4487, everything in the service bay.

Wouldn't be surprise if 4483 enter service on Thursday, since it been here 19 days already, with 15 days been the norm these days.

Typical City of Toronto procedures took place today; defer, delay, and stall until the sun don't shine. This time, the TTC board has deferred to make a decision on procuring more streetcars until early 2019:

Given this an election year, no one wants this item on their watch to lose an election. Then, there is no funds at hand to place a tender, but thats a cop out.

Thunder Bay could see its door close come 2020 with the completion of TTC and GO Transit orders, with any other work going to other BBD plants.

The 60 option cars could go to Kingston or Quebec in place of Thunder Bay.

Hunn!! 4483 operation on route 185-Don Mills Rocket???

Westbound on King At John St at 2:50 pm

4483 has enter service at 2:58 on Bathurst St at Fort York Blvd and to become an 509

Both 4483 & 4485 Still have the wrong GPS routes for them.

4483 still on 509

4485 has turn eastbound onto King from Dufferin Loop and must be on a 503/504 route..........now going north on Dufferin at Dundas

4486 still in the service bay

4487 heading to Long Branch as an in service 501 car for testing

4488 is now tracking

4489 not tracking

The GPS is still nuts like yesterday and no idea if 4483 and 4485 are in service yet.

4485 is currently on Finch as route 36 and following the route like it did for Dufferin 29 yesterday at this time. Looking under buses assign to route 36, 4485 is listed there as well.

Understand same issues with buses as well.

4483 is on King as a route 7 and no idea if it is an 504, or a 509 or a 512 or a test car based where its. The GPS has it going from in service to a dot back and forth. It even has the car disappearing to jumping back and forth to where it was a minute ago.

Until yesterday, never seen this issues and still happening today

After checking a number of other cars, all showing up on various routes with the correct route number. 4479 is on 512 as an 89 bus, 4472 on 510 as route 59, 4469 on the service track in the yard on route 86, 4466 at Union loop on route 45, 4467 on King St as route 145, 4470 on King on route 79 and haven't check all car.

Anyone around the various route should check for 4453 & 85 to see what they are really operating as and let us know. Thanks

Done, done, and on to the next one..... (sorry, still humming Foo Fighters after last night's concert....)

The next one - presumably 4490 - is on its way across Northern Ontario this morning.
