TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

The doors on the Flexities are definitely slower, but the cars themselves accelerate more quickly than the As and Cs do.

The doors themselves are slower, but you no longer have to wait for people to descend and ascend the stairs. Stops are quicker.

4471 should be at Hillcrest today. 4472 is in Toronto, waiting its turn for delivery (the TTC spur will only take one load at a time). 4473 is ready for pickup in Thunder Bay. And 4466 has arrived Thunder Bay for rework.

Is this the first schedule Bombardier has met?

The red button on the doors are to be used to open the doors at the stops. However, currently, the driver opens and closes them (usually). What happens is the driver has to check the cameras to make sure the doors are clear before closing them. Hopefully, once all the streetcars arrive, the public will be informed to actually use the red buttons. (Probably will have to inform the public that several hundred times.)

Also functions as a stop request button.

4472 is on the way to the Barns. Being towed by 4402

73. They start at 4400.

From link.
4401 is still a prototype belonging to BBD. Until the car is ship back to Thunder Bay to be rebuilt like 4000 & 4402 and the production cars, it not a TTC car. Once TTC received the rebuilt car and put it through the standard test cycle like all cars and TTC sign off for it, only then will it make to the Fleet List. That is why 72 (71) production cars are on TTC property. Until TTC signs off for 4466, 4469-4472 at this time, they are still BBD cars, not TTC. This means, TTC only has 67 cars in the fleet at this time, with 4469 being added as 68 in the next few days. Wouldn't be surprise to see 4469 shows up in the Beach(es) Easter Parade on Sunday as an in service car.

If testing remains as is, 4470 should enter service around April 9, 4471-4472 could be around April 18. No idea when 4466 will return to TTC and may enter service in May or ?.

Why 4401 is still here is a question only TTC can answers, but could be for legal reason.

For those who track the fine details of these things - 4471 was loaded before 4472, but thanks to how the cars were marshalled by CP en route, the 4472 reached Hillcrest before 4471 and was unloaded first. 4471 is at Hillcrest today, awaiting unloading. 4473 is halfway to Toronto from Thunder Bay.

Glad I’m not doing the archiving on the delivery dates :)

If 4466 is going back to TB ..... that means someone has to get to Parry Sound to see it cross that bridge and photograph correct ? Any volunteers ? :)

Sorry. It's already in the Bay.

And it went across the bridge at night. Bleah.
