I think that you would be very, very suprised to hear how much distrust and even anger still lingers within due to Byford's 5 years at the helm of the TTC.

A lot of the reason why employees are happy with Rick Leery is that he's not Andy Byford.

I recall you mentioning similar a year or so ago. To those on the outside is surprising, considering from a public POV Byford was gold. Would like to hear more as to why employees were unhappy with him, part I think I can get, but still hard to hear because for the public a lot of good changes happened under his leadership.

4530 was off loaded today. This marks the 9th car to be ship this year, as 4521 was already in Toronto at the end of 2018 and it was off loaded Jan 2.

With 4531 & 4532 in route and TTC may see one or both by the end of next week, TTC may see 12 cars from TB this quarter at this rate. Nothing out of Kingston since the shipment of TTC 4573

4573 has finally made its way into the service bay again after sitting out side track 7 doors for over 30 hours and it not even on track 7 in the service bay.

This is news to me. Care to provide any brief insight on this?

While Byford was out apologizing to the public, the sentiment at the ground level was that of being thrown under the proverbial bus. A lot of his "customer service focused" efforts came at the expense of front line employees - they felt like they were getting trampled. And then there was the privatization efforts. Operators were told to look the other eye at fare evasion, as the TTC was not willing to stand up behind them. "Modernizing the TTC" was taken to mean "getting rid of as many heads as possible". And so on.

While there was no doubt that the TTC needed to get dragged into the 21st Century - kicking and screaming, it seems - the manner of which he's gone about it has been a bit reckless and roughshod, at least judging by the feelings of those in the trenches.

Very interesting, appreciate the insight there.

Although I will admit, I hold very litle sympathy for many of the front-line workers who felt like they were getting "thrown under the bus". They were getting away with a lot of non-sense for years before his arrival, so of course they would feel like they were getting thrown under the bus the minute someone tried to correct some of the behavior. The rest I cant really speak to.

There were some things that they complained about that I would roll my eyes at - for instance, about 2 years ago there was a big cry and hue when they reduced the amount of free parking for operators at Wilson Division.

But there were others that I completely agree with, such as being told not to watch the fares. A number of those that continued to do so after the memo from head office were given and were assaulted received little help from their superiors until the union stepped in.

Its hard to throw someone under the bus for bad behaviour when they are the bus driver /s

4573 has enter service on 501 after 19 days being here. It been sitting in the yard since 8 am. I guess they held it back until the parade was over..

Edit:
4527 was out testing last night and earlier today. May see service this coming weekend.

4528 been in the service bay for a fair number of days and next to enter service.

4530 still not tracking and should be any day since there is room for it now to start testing.

4531 & 4532 could show up this week for off loading.

4527 did a wild in service 501 test eariler tonight that first included a trip to McCaul Loop via Queen, followed by Fleet Loop, and then it went up to St. Clair. It's back at Lesile now however, still signed onto 501 for the ghost of a very wild test run
