4489 is sitting on the west end service bay track compare to sitting for days on the east end tracks.

4492 was out being tested yesterday with 4493. Its currently sitting at the east end of track 1 and hard to say if its ready for service, but close any day.

4493 should see/be ready for service Friday-Sunday and sitting on service bay track 6 east end.

4494 was off loaded today.

Looking through the photos at https://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php/Toronto_Transit_Commission_4400-4603 I don't start seeing it until 4430, after that its consistent. 4427 doesn't seem to show it, and there's no photos posted there for 4428 or 4429.

Sure, just what I need, an OCD trigger that sends me down a rabbit hole looking for pictures to sort out minor Flexity spotting features!

FWIW 4401 came with a *square* drawbar door.

It seems really weird to me that such a minor detail would change across individual vehicles. Wouldn't the shape of the door be nailed down in the original design phase?

Actually, it's pretty normal for little things to get tweaked along the way, especially between the prototype and production.

Assuming JIT manufacturing, that particular part would not have been produced in huge quantities. Maybe after the first run, the parts maker found they could save a few cents by changing the design, or maybe there was a change notice because the original design had some annoying deficiency. Or the supplier changed.

There's that famous quote by one of the pioneers of the internal combustion engine - "The only thing we didn't have to rework was the dipstick"

For the record, that port is not for the drawbar. The drawbar gets connected to the car by removing the square hatch on the "bumper" immediately above it.

That port is to plug in a special electrical connector to disengage the parking/emergency brakes when being towed.

4489 has done its first day of testing since arriving July 10, 2018. It is on Queen heading to the Barns, east of Broadview

4493 testing on King St

4492 out in the lake and most likely being ready for service Sat.

Thanks for these updates. I saw 4493 on Lake Shore headed toward Long Branch yesterday.

4489 has just headed into Hillcrest. Operator break maybe?
They take a break there most times on the 512/511 testing.

4489 is still having GPS issues to the point its now north of Old Derry Rd in Mississauga. All over the place yesterday.

4492 being sitting at the east end of the service bay outside for the last 30 hours.

4493 It was going out for testing this morning when I looked at it and in the service bay

I saw 4489 went down King Street, Queensway and Lake Shore then back up around 5-6pm sign Not in service today. It's just not tracking very well.
