TTC Doc: Looking for info...

Wow, what an awesome forum. I spent days looking for a message board/forum that dealt with transportation in toronto (which i thought would be a hot topic) but found nothing. Until I randomly stumbled across this site lol.

I'm a 20 yo film student doing a documentary on the TTC for a school project. It's sort of a sociological analysis of behaviours people encounter while taking public transit (rough desciription). Right now i'm looking to acquire some sound effects for it. Stuff like TTC chimes, transit announcements over the PA system, etc...

Thanks to anyone able to provide resources :)

Welcome to the forum. Transit Toronto is your best bet for all of this stuff. You can get the chimes from the TTC's own home page since the sound is played every time you open the site.

Welcome to the forum, phillr. As unimaginative has already mentioned, Transit Toronto is an excellent source.

The weblog of transit advocate Steve Munro is also an excellent place for up to date information, particularly regarding the TTC.

There might also be some more psychologically oriented stuff on Spacing Toronto Wire - though you might to sift through it on TTC specific postings.

Hope this helps!

If you're looking for TTC sound effects, you should definitely check out my TTC videos at YouTube. If you have a microphone you can record the sound off of your computer's speakers.
