Yesterday evening walking along Queen West in Parkdale I came upon a giant lineup of streetcars. The one at the front had lost its "teeth." There were supervisors, maintenance staff and operators milling about trying to figure out the situation.
What happened?
Ouch. A family from Windsor (I talked to them as they stood around in shock yet thankfully unhurt other than their mid-90s Caravan--no they don't work at Chrysler I asked.
) told me they were stopped at the red light when the streetcar rearended them. They blamed the operator. (Well the TTC likely has footage on board the cars right?) Witnesses seemed to back up the family's version of events. The supervisor was taking photos along with yours truly.
Suddenly the traffic jam was clear. The mess was cleaned up. My parting shot:
As I joked to the family, it sucks to get rear-ended twice in the same night!
