Toronto's Most Romantic Dining

It's about that time of year again. Valentine is just around the corner. Need some ideas on the best place to take the significant other. :poke:

A nice dinner at the George Brown College restaurant, in the Adelaide Street Building.

Make reservations fast. Our restaurant fills up.

But after make it really romantic. Take him or her to
Ashbridges Bay Park. Take a walk along the waterfront, and then find some rocks up by the edge of the water, and go cuddle in them. There are little pockets or rocks that make like a little room with walls. You can sit there with the water just below, and the downtown skyline in the distance.

I took my ex there. It was very very nice. And not as cold as people would think it is at this time of year.

Another good romantic place is PANORAMA. But not to eat. More just for a drink.

But come to George Brown.

I would suggest Canoe, at the TD center (54th floor of TD Bank Tower). You definately need to make a reservation, especially if you want a window seat.

I've been there once before with a good friend, and the place rocked. Mind you, we were there for lunch, which was cheaper, but the service was exellent, and we left a great tip. We were treated wonderfully, even though we were not wearing suits and ties- I was dressed in a kimono and white hakama, and my friend was just wearing his everyday clothes.
Since the place caters primarily to the "suits", I don't think you will have many problems with screaming babies, unruly kids running around, and so on.

You don't have to do the whole heavy dinner thing- you could perhaps get appetizers and desserts, or just go to the bar for drinks, stuff like that. And you can preview the hours, menu, etc, here:

Does your wife realize where you get all your fantastic ideas from? ;)

She would be impressed that I would actually go out and research this. Only the best

Marinela's The Wedge is a fantastic date restaurant. It's at the corner of Adelaide and Widmer (right beside the parking lot where the Festival Tower is going up). They have great food (incredible pasta and risotto), the ambience inside is pretty romantic, and during the summer time the patio is just fantastic - small and intimate with lights and candles all around.

someone needs to make a real long list.

Dining on the cheap with good ambiance. Oh man I can do that. Food is just an afterthought. Its the enviroment that makes the mood. right?

You could try Jamie Kennedy's Wine Bar on Church. The food is good, and very reasonably priced. The wine list is quite good. It's a great looking room. Service is a bit dodgy though.

I had dinner there with a gal pal last week before the theatre. We got out the door for $90, which was really excellent, considering we had a $50 bottle of wine...

Check out Adriatico on Dupont/Avenue. Amazing ambiance and food, though a bit pricey. Expect to spend $150 for a dinner for two. But you can't beat the atmosphere...

Pan on Danforth at Ferrier is a small, dark and very romantic place--excellent food too.

Valentine's Day? Oh shit, it's the second day of April. I'm in trouble!

If you want to add some french romanticism to your valentine's night I'd go to Scaramouche in Avenue Rd. Great environment and the food is excellent. Don't forget to add some flowers to the night.

haha, i will be following this thread now that summer is around the corner. ;)
